Vision Support That Starts Early & Stays Consistent

At Skippack Vision Family Eyecare, we begin seeing children as young as age three; many stay with us through college and beyond. Early, consistent eye care sets the foundation for lifelong vision health. Our pediatric exams are age-appropriate, calm, and informative for the child and the parent.

Whether it’s your child’s first eye exam, a routine vision screening, or support for symptoms like eye rubbing, squinting, or falling behind in school, we take the time to understand what is going on and explain every step in a way that makes sense.

What We Look For During a Pediatric Eye Exam

Each child’s exam is based on their age, attention span, and developmental needs. We assess:

  • How clearly they see, up close and far away
  • How their eyes move and work together
  • Early signs of conditions like amblyopia (lazy eye) or strabismus (eye turn)
  • Visual behaviors that may be affecting learning, reading, or screen time
  • Prescription changes, eye focusing, and eye alignment

For school-age children, we also screen for signs of digital strain and track vision changes that could affect classroom performance or sports.

Calm, Kid-Friendly Experience

We know that a good first visit can shape a child’s feelings about eye care for years to come. That is why we focus on comfort, routine, and conversation, not pressure or unfamiliar procedures.

Parents often tell us their kids look forward to coming back. That has something we take seriously and something we are proud of.

Myopia Control for Kids With Nearsightedness

If your child has been diagnosed with myopia (nearsightedness), we offer evidence-based treatments that can help slow its progression. These include:

  • MiSight® daily contact lenses
  • Ortho-k lenses (worn overnight)
  • Low-dose atropine eye drops
  • Axial length tracking to monitor eye growth over time

By addressing myopia early, we can help protect your child’s vision now and reduce their risk of serious eye disease later in life.

Part of Your Family’s Routine

As your child grows, their needs change, and so does their care. We are here to support that growth, with regular check-ins, familiar faces, and care that evolves with them.

Whether they are just starting preschool or getting ready to drive, we will make sure their vision keeps up with the pace of their life.
