A Deeper Look Into Your Eye Health

We’re committed to protecting your vision not just for today, but for years to come. That’s why we offer the iWellness Exam, a fast, non-invasive scan that helps us detect the earliest signs of eye disease, often before symptoms appear or vision is affected.

This advanced technology allows us to see beneath the retina's surface, providing a clearer picture of your overall eye health and helping us take action early if needed.

What Is the iWellness Exam?

The iWellness Exam uses spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). A scanning technology that creates detailed, high-resolution cross-sections of your retina and optic nerve. It’s similar to an ultrasound, but it uses light instead of sound waves to capture incredibly precise images.

The scan is:

  • Quick and painless
  • Completed in just a few seconds
  • Performed right here in our office
  • Included as an optional part of your annual exam

Why We Recommend It to Our Patients

While a traditional eye exam allows us to evaluate your prescription and overall eye health, some retinal diseases begin without visible symptoms or changes to your vision. The iWellness scan gives us a more complete picture, so we can identify early signs of:

  • Glaucoma
  • Macular degeneration
  • Diabetic eye disease
  • Other retinal or optic nerve disorders

Detecting these issues early means we can begin monitoring or treatment before permanent vision loss occurs, often years sooner than with standard exams alone.
